Vietnam’s northern mountain ranges are breathtakingly beautiful, rich in cultural diversity and great fun to explore. Travel along roads snaking through high passes and through fertile valleys, see incredible rice terraces, visit colourful hill tribe markets and check out some of the areas historic sites.

Destinations: Hanoi - Son La - Dien Bien Phu - Muong Lay - Tam Duong - Sapa - Lao Cai

Day 1: Hanoi – Son La (B, L)

• – At 7 am, our car meets you at your hotel in Hanoi and depart for Son La.
• – Arrive in Son La in the late afternoon.
• – Overnight in Son La.

Day 2: Son La – Dien Bien Phu (B, L)

• – At 8 am depart Son La for Dien Bien Phu.
• – On arrival enjoy a trip to the Army museum and then on to famous ‘A1 Hill’, the site which saw some of the fiercest fighting between French and Vietnamese forces in the battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1946.
• – Overnight in Dien Bien Phu.

Day 3: Dien Bien Phu – Muong Lay (B, L)

• – At 8 am depart for Muong Lay.
• – Boasting some of the remotest community’s in Vietnam and skirting neighboring Lao’s Xa Ly Province, Muong Lay is a stunning area and home to some of the countries most colourful hill tribes, along the way stop where you wish to admire the scenery.
• – Overnight in Muong Lay. 

Day 4: Muong Lay – Tam Duong – Sapa (B, L)

• – At 8 am depart for Sapa.
• – Arrival in Sapa in the late afternoon.
• – Overnight in Sapa.

Day 5: Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B, L)

• – After your breakfast your private guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of the hotel to take you ‘Off the beaten track’ for a light trek to discover Sapa’s lesser-known areas.
• – In the late afternoon transfer back to Lao Cai to catch the night train to Hanoi.
• – Overnight on the train.

Day 6: Hanoi (B)

• – Early arrival in Hanoi, you will walk to a hotel for refreshment and a buffet breakfast before transferring to your next destinations.
